Taiwan Reports Three Chinese Aircraft Sorties and Fifteen Vessels

Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense reported three Chinese military aircraft sorties, six naval vessels and nine official ships around the Taiwan Strait in its October 26 bulletin. The observation period ran from 6 a.m. on October 25 to 6 a.m. on October 26, 2026, Taiwan time. One sortie crossed the Strait’s median line and entered southwestern and eastern areas, according to the ministry. Taiwan’s armed forces used mission aircraft, ships and shore based missile systems to monitor and respond, the statement said. The maritime categories together total fifteen vessels, not fifteen warships. This is a fresh daily reporting window, rather than an additional count for a previously covered period. The figures are attributed Taiwanese detections, not independently verified observations. The bulletin does not establish that all detected assets operated together, explain their intentions, or report a direct clash. Aircraft sorties count flights and should not be read as distinct aircraft.
